Single-Phase Overhead Transformer

Our Features

Oil-filled single-phase overhead transformers are designed and manufactured to step down utility distribution voltages, which typically range from 2400 to 34500 volts, to lower utilization voltages. While some transformers are utilized for reducing voltages for commercial and industrial purposes, such as 277, 240/480, 2400, and 4800 volts, the majority are employed for stepping down to the single-phase voltage of 120/240. Additionally, these transformers find applications in small substations and various miscellaneous uses, and they can also be utilized to step up voltages when necessary

Technical Specs

  • Option to utilize FR3 fluid for enhanced fire safety or electrical grade mineral oil.

  • Compliance with or surpassing industry benchmarks such as ANSI, NEMA, and DOE Energy Efficiency standards.

  • Incorporation of EPRI-recommended interlaced core-type design to bolster resistance against low-side voltage surges.

  • Standard inclusion of polymer low-voltage bushings for units ranging from 5 to 50 kVA.

  • Cores and coils engineered for heightened reliability and minimized field failure rates, with choices between grain-oriented electrical or amorphous steel materials.

  • Enhanced pressure withstand capability and elimination of bushing overhang through a domed cover design and formed cover band.

  • Improved gasket protection and sealing via high-voltage bushing design.

  • Customizable configurations to meet Rural Utilities Service (RUS) specifications.
